Japanese politics in English, by and for young people.
Who We Are
Japan Youth Politics Forum (JYPF) is a platform where young people explore, explain, and debate Japanese politics in English. Our mission is to make Japanese political issues accessible to youth worldwide, while giving students a space to share their voices and perspectives.
Why We Exist
Young people are often left out of serious conversations about politics, even though the policies of today will shape their futures. At the same time, resources about Japanese politics in English are limited, making it harder for international students and globally minded youth to understand one of the world’s most important democracies.
The Japan Youth Politics Forum exists to bridge this gap. We provide clear, accessible explanations of Japanese politics while offering a space for young people to share their voices, debate ideas, and learn from one another.
What We Do
At JYPF, we combine education with dialogue. Our work includes:
- Educational resources: Plain-language explainers, bilingual glossaries, and presentations in Japanese for learners.
- Youth voices: Opinion pieces, editorials, and news summaries written by high school and university students.
- Community engagement: Monthly themes, discussion forums, and respectful debate across cultures and perspectives.
Together, these elements create a forum where young people can both learn about Japanese politics and contribute their own perspectives to the conversation.
